Ingredients
12 cups Beef & Chicken Broth
1.5 cups Cooked Barley
A handful of Stir-fry Beef or Sausage
1 Mariano’s size drizzle Olive Oil
1/2 med Onion
1 large Garlic Clove
6 Sticks Celery
2 med Carrots
1 small Bunch of Italian Parsley
1 small Spoonful of Crushed Tomatoes (optional)
1 Mariano splash size White Wine
1 small Pinch of Vegeta (or Vegetable Seasoning)
1 Sprinkle of Parmesan (optional)
Directions
- Begin by bringing a pot of Beef & Chicken broth up to a boil.
- Chop Celery, Carrots and add to the boiling broth along with your pre-cooked & rinsed Barley.
- Chop half a medium size Onion, 1 Garlic clove, Parsley, and a handful of Stir-fry Beef or Sausage. Add to a food processor or blender and mix until a chunky salsa-like texture is achieved. This is called the condiment.
- Begin to cook the condiment in a pan over medium-high heat. Add some of your favorite White Wine and a spoonful of Crushed Tomato into the pan. Cook until fragrant.
- Add the condiment to the boiling broth. At this point, the Carrots & Celery should be softened.
- Taste for seasoning, adding Salt or Vegeta as required.
- Sprinkle a little parmesan on top for extra flavor before consuming if desired.
