Ingredients

  • Olive Oil

  • Beef Stew Chunks

  • Sea Salt

  • Black Pepper

  • Onion

  • Garlic

  • Carrot

  • Peas

  • Banana Potato (or Yukon Gold)

  • Strained Tomato

  • White Wine

  • Hot Chili Pepper (optional)

Directions

  • Add ¾” inch Beef Chunks, Chopped Onion, and Chopped Garlic to a skillet. Cook over medium heat until the beef is browned, and the onions and garlic are soft and fragrant. Season with a pinch of sea salt and black pepper to taste. Optionally, add crushed hot chili pepper at this point for an extra kick.
  • Transfer from the pan to a pot to simmer the stew. Add a half bottle of strained tomato and about a third of a bottle of white wine. Make sure you don’t leave any strained tomato behind in the bottle!
  • Add chopped carrots, potato, and strained green peas to the dish. Season with another pinch of salt and a crack of black pepper. Give the stew a mix before leaving it for a simmer.
  • Bring the stew to a simmer on low heat for about 90 minutes.
  • Serve on its own, or with polenta or bread! Watch the video above to see how Mariano serves this dish at his table. Enjoy!
