Ingredients
6 slices Capital Thick Cut Bacon
1 pound Ground beef (80/20 or 85/15)
4 tbsp Minced onion
4 slices American cheese
4 Brioche hamburger buns
Toppings of your choice (pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, etc.)
- Burger sauce ingredients:
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
1/4 cup Ketchup
1/4 cup Yellow mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Directions
- Divide the ground beef into equal portions, about 4 ounces each. Shape each portion into a loosely packed ball.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over high heat until it's smoking hot.
- Place a ball of beef on the skillet and use a metal spatula or burger press to smash it down until it's about 1/4-inch thick.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of minced onion on top of each patty.
- Cook the patties for about 1-2 minutes, until a deep brown crust forms on the bottom.
- Scrape, then flip the patties over and immediately place a slice of cheese on top of each patty.
- Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, place the bacon in a separate skillet and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel to drain, reserving the bacon fat in the skillet.
- Use the bacon fat to toast the hamburger buns until golden brown and crispy.
- To make the burger sauce, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom bun, adding a dollop of burger sauce, a few slices of crispy bacon, and any other desired toppings and condiments. Add the top bun.
