  • 300 g Capital Ukrainian Sausage (Sliced)

  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil

  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • 1 cup Onions (Diced)

  • 2 bags Pierogies (Frozen)

  • Garlic (Minced)

  • 225 g Cream Cheese (Softened)

  • 1/2 cup Chicken Broth

  • 1/2 cup Milk

  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream

  • 1 tbsp Fresh Dill

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 2 tsp Pepper

  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (Grated)

  • 3 Green Onions (Thinly Sliced)

  • Preheat the oven to 375°f (190°c). If using a convection oven, set it to 400°f (200°c).
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sear the sliced Capital Ukrainian Sausage for 2-4 minutes until it develops a deep brown color.
  • In the same skillet, add chopped onions, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  • Turn the heat down to low. Add the chopped garlic to the onions and sausage, and stir for a minute before turning the heat off altogether.
  • In a separate pan, start preparing the cream cheese sauce. Add the cream cheese to the pan over low heat. Stir in milk and chicken broth to achieve a creamy consistency.
  • Once the cheese has melted, add in sour cream. Stir in the freeze-dried dill, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Lay a single layer of frozen pierogies in a baking dish. Spoon the Ukrainian sausage, onions, and garlic mixture over the pierogies.
  • Pour the cream cheese sauce over the pierogi and sausage layer, ensuring even coverage.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake until the Pierogies are cooked through and everything is sizzling, about 30-40 minutes.
  • Remove the foil, top generously with medium cheddar cheese, and broil until the cheese is melted and gooey.
  • Top with freshly chopped green onions and serve hot.
